So What is This About?
For five years I have been employed for a non-profit organization very concerned with the IT budget. Hardware is relatively cheap nowadays, so the software expenditures were usually the biggest part of that budget. Searching and evaluating open source tools and products always have been one of my regular duties. This way we saved a lot of money using OSS instead of expensive propietary systems.
OSS can provide in most cases the right solution for non-profit organizations, small businesess and developing countries. The aim of this site is to provide useful information regarding open solutions and its implementations. It's up to you to consider including OSS solutions in your IT enviroment.
